Go Not Go Gauges for Appliance Couplers

1. Introduction

The go and not go gauges are strictly designed according to EN60320-3:2014 figure 2 to figure 31, for testing the appliance couplers (C1 to C24, F, H, J, L) for household and similar general purpose. The gauges are used with force as mentioned in the relevant standard sheet of the gauge to perform insertion compliance test. And the gauges and pins are made of hardened steel.

For 2.5A connector for class II equipment according to standard sheet C7 shall be sufficiently resistance to deformation. The blades is used for compliance test.

When the gauge is inserted between the ridges of the appliance inlets C8, C8A and C8B with a force of 30n, it shall not touch the bottom of the inlet

Figure 31 - Gauges for Checking Point of First Contact (0.2A)

The appropriate gauge shall be applied to the entry hole of each socket contact of the connector with a force not exceeding 5N. When the gauge is fully inserted, the longer pin of the gauge   (contact gauge) shall make contact and the shorter pin   (no contact gauge) shall not contact contact.
